Still waiting for names for Boyd as well.

Competitions for July/August

The committee has been discussing the fixture list and below are the gents and mixed fixtures for the next few weeks. We have added two new competitions, the rules for which will be published in advance and can be read on the first tee on the day of the competition. For the AC Patterson, I will need to know pairs by the day before so that I can make a draw and book the tee times. The McLaughlan Trophy will be a one off 4BBB event this year, played on the date which should have been the Wigtownshire 4BBB. Finally, the Boyd will be played for over the month of August, one knockout round per week (in the style of the Wigtownshire Matchplay with short deadlines). If you want to play, please message Malcolm or Matthew by Sunday 26th July. Any questions, please ask. PS please tell everybody who is not on Facebook.

Virtual Opening Competition

Welcome to what should have been the opening competition of the season, The Captain v Vice Captain. Due to the Corona virus restrictions it was played in VIRTUAL reality. Captain Neil Cluckie hit a screamer down the left, flirting with the out of bounds but fading it back nicely to finish well down on the left side of the fairway. Vice Captain Robin McHarg hit it out right, down the ninth fairway but drawing it back over the hedge to finish just slightly right of centre. Ladies Captain Marion Cluckie and Vice Captain Sandra McGinn hit mighty drives straight down the middle. After 9 very enjoyable holes, supported by a large turnout of members, the result was declared a draw. In REALITY the course is looking lovely, many thanks to Matthew who is doing a sterling job on his own, dealing with the essential course maintenance. Hopefully we will be back playing in the not too distant future.
