Past Captains Day

Sunday 30th July was Past Captains’ Day at Wigtown and Bladnoch GC. 23 took part in the golf and 28 enjoyed the fantastic buffet provided by Sheila Nichol.

Winner of the ladies competition was Angela Potter with a nett 73.

Winner of the gents competition was Davie Drysdale with a nett 60.

Junior Golf Night 10th July

The bad weather didn’t stop the junior golf night, with fun putting competitions being held in the Clubhouse. Many thanks to Matthew Robinson for setting up the competitions, and demonstrating, although he was beaten by the juniors!

Ladies Club Champion and Norah Simpson Trophy Winners

The Ladies Club Championship was played over 2 rounds, last night and tonight. The weather was ideal and the course was in excellent condition.

The Club Champion 2023 is Mhari McCulloch 165, and a close 2nd was Sandra McGinn 166.

The Norah Simpson Handicap trophy was won by Sandra McGinn 124, runner-up was Susan Bell 149.

Congratulations to the winners.

Cancer Charity Cheque Presentation

Wigtown Rangers Supporters Club raised the incredible sum of £4,428 today. A cheque was presented to David Bell representing Macmillan Cancer Support by Davy Bell, Wigtown Rangers Supporters Club. Thanks to everyone who helped raise such a large donation. Special thanks to everyone who donated £20 to sponsor a hole and all the businesses and individuals who gave generous donations. A great sum of money to go to such a worthwhile cause.

Charity Scramble

Today the Cancer Charity Team Fundraiser was held at Wigtown & Bladnoch. A good number of teams took part in the Texas Scramble and excellent scores ensued. Thanks to Wigtown Rangers Supporters Club for their continued sponsorship. The brilliant amount of £4,428 was raised for a cancer Charity.

The results were as follows:

2nd – B Harrison, T Adams, E Dodds (54)

3rd – R Herries, J Smith, E Marshall (56) BIH

4th – N Whyte, K Dawson, E Thompson (56)

1st Ladies – M McCulloch, D Gunby, C Cannon (59)

The course was perfectly presented and despite a few showers, everyone enjoyed their round of golf.
