Wigtown & Bladnoch Golf Club recently hosted the Wigtown Rangers Supporters Club’s Cancer Charity Team Open competition, at which was raised the magnificent sum of £1787. The money collected came from a hugely successful raffle and a well supported Open Golf Team Competition. The chosen Cancer charity was Macmillan Nurses. Many thanks go to all those who either took part in the Golf or bought raffle tickets, but especially to Kate and Davy Bell who are the driving force behind this popular charity event. The picture shows Davy Bell (Wigtown Rangers Supporters Club) handing the cheque to David Bell (McMillan Nurses treasurer).

Absolutely fabulous ladies outing to Powfoot Golf Club today. Champion of the Solway Salver as well as the Maisie Welsh Trophy today was Mhari McCulloch – excellent score of a nett 69. Super proud although we did have Gold Commonwealth champions playing for Australia of Marion Cluckie, Susan Bell, Deborah Gunby & Angie Potter. Silver for England – Sandra McGinn, Kelly Milven, Norah Simpson & Christine Cannon and Bronze for Canada – Sharon Drysdale, Kate Bell, Sharon Milven & Mhari McCulloch. xxx
