Green Keeper Required

We are looking for a Green Keeper for our very friendly 9 hole Golf Course. The ideal candidate will be hard working, in reasonable physical shape, responsible, and able to work flexible hours particularly during the busy summer season.  They will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • An interest in Golf, preferably as a player
  • An ability to operate machinery, both ride on machines and manual ones
  • Experience of grass seed/fertilisers or the ability to learn about them
  • Able to communicate with members, the Greens Convenor and the Committee

The job requires 40 hours per week in the summer (April – September) and 20 hours in the winter (October – March). Pay exceeds National Minimum Wage and includes a contributory pension scheme. Free Membership of the Golf Club is also included.

COVID UPDATE

⛳️ As we now have a COVID Officer play can take place in four-balls with no restrictions on the number of households.Note that the clubhouse will remain closed for now and you must still observe all the usual social distancing measures currently in place

⛳️ All tee times are to be booked via the club website and ALL players names must be included

⛳️ Please arrive just before your allocated tee time.

⛳️ While on the course please do not remove flag sticks

⛳️ After playing bunker shots please smooth the sand with your feet/clubhead as best you can as there will be no rakes left on the course

⛳️ Please leave the premises once your game of golf is complete.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

As of today members are being asked to use Masterscoreboard to input scores for Club and Open Competitions. For those who have never used this site, Masterscoreboard is available at the following web address:- http://masterscoreboard.mobi/ To access the site members now require a password. Please message the club via Messenger and this will be provided. The password provided will allow initial access to our Masterscoreboard section.You will then be prompted to select your name from the drop down list and create your own password for future access. Your account is now set up to record scores. To record your score select SCORE ENTRY from the main page then select the relevant competition. Anyone unable to access this site can still submit a card by sending a photograph via the club Facebook Messenger, however Masterscoreboard is the preferred method.

Welcome from the Easter Bunny!

The Easter Bunny hopped down from the Club House window and onto the first tee to welcome golfers to Wigtown & Bladnoch Golf Club on this glorious Easter weekend. The Course is looking lovely.

The Fixture list is now available on the website. Missing is the opening Captain v Vice Captain as it is really just a get together and they aren’t allowed yet!

However we are pleased to announce that we have a Covid Officer in place. This allows up to 4 people from up to 4 households to golf together. We are also welcoming visitors who live in Dumfries & Galloway Council region.

PLEASE book your Tee Times and remember to book 2 times roughly 1.30 hours apart if doing 18 holes.
